Step 4: Add data in Shopify

This is the MOST IMPORTANT step of all in the onboarding guide.

First: NEVER change your SKU while you have stock. If you need to change your SKU, please contact us.

1. Confirm that Shipshark has a Shopify location

It is important that we have our own location in your Shopify store with the exact name Shipshark - Haraldsvej. Inventory and fulfillment must be linked to this location so that our inventory can sync correctly with your store. After installing our Shipshark Shopify app, the location is automatically created, but please double-check.

• In the Shopify admin: go to Settings → Locations
• Double-check that the location is named Shipshark - Haraldsvej

2. Add weight and dimensions via Excel

• Requirement: It is a requirement that all products have weight and dimensions registered. Without this information, we cannot handle your products correctly in the warehouse and packing process.

• Fill in an Excel file with weight and dimensions (length, width, and height) for all your products. Use SKU/item number as the key so each product variant can be matched correctly.

• Once you have access to PeakWMS (see step 5), import the file under Products → Import/Export → Import data.

• Follow PeakWMS' guide for importing Excel files here. You only need to map the columns for weight and dimensions.

3. Add SKU to your products (each product variant must have its OWN SKU)

• Click "Products" in Shopify

• Select the product you want to add SKU to

• Find the "SKU" field and fill in a series of numbers and letters + enable "Track Quantity"

  • If your product is a White, Dress in Size Medium, then make e.g. SKU (H-DRESS-M)

  • You can't make a "wrong" SKU. The MOST IMPORTANT thing is that EVERY product variant has its own unique SKU

4. Add Barcode to your products (each product variant must have its OWN Barcode)

• Click "Products" in Shopify

• Select the product you want to add Barcode to

• Find the "Barcode" field and fill with 13 random numbers

  • Barcode example: 3567321647830

  • You can't make a "wrong" barcode as long as it is 13 random numbers and unique to each product variant

• Requirement: It is a requirement that the products you deliver to us have barcodes applied (matching the barcode field in Shopify). Without a barcode on the product, we cannot scan your products. That increases the risk of errors and has a major impact on how efficiently we can work in the pick and pack process.
