ShipShark
Onboarding

Step 4: Add data in Shopify

This is the MOST IMPORTANT step of all in the onboarding guide.

First: NEVER change your SKU while you have stock. If you need to change your SKU, please contact us.

  1. Create a Shopify location for ShipShark

It is important that you create a new location in Shopify named exactly Shipshark - Haraldsvej. Inventory and fulfillments must be tied to this location so our warehouse can sync correctly with your shop.

  • In Shopify admin, go to SettingsLocations
  • Click Add location
  • Enter the name Shipshark - Haraldsvej (use this exact spelling)
  • Save the location

2. Add weight and dimensions to your products

  • Click "Products" in Shopify

  • Select the product you want to add/change weight and dimensions on

  • Find the "weight" field and fill in correctly (if in doubt, ask your supplier)

  • Find the dimension fields (length, width, and height) and fill in correctly (if in doubt, ask your supplier)

  • Requirement: It is a requirement that all products have weight and dimensions filled in in Shopify. Without this information, we cannot handle your products correctly in the warehouse and packing process.

3. Add SKU to your products (each product variant must have its OWN SKU)

  • Click "Products" in Shopify

  • Select the product you want to add SKU to

  • Find the "SKU" field and fill in a series of numbers and letters + enable "Track Quantity"

    • If your product is a White, Dress in Size Medium, then make e.g. SKU (H-DRESS-M)

    • You can't make a "wrong" SKU. The MOST IMPORTANT thing is that EVERY product variant has its own unique SKU

4. Add Barcode to your products (each product variant must have its OWN Barcode)

  • Click "Products" in Shopify

  • Select the product you want to add Barcode to

  • Find the "Barcode" field and fill with 13 random numbers

    • Barcode example: 3567321647830

    • You can't make a "wrong" barcode as long as it is 13 random numbers and unique to each product variant

  • Requirement: It is a requirement that the products you deliver to us have barcodes applied (matching the barcode field in Shopify). Without a barcode on the product, we cannot scan your products. That increases the risk of errors and has a major impact on how efficiently we can work in the pick and pack process.

  • If you need to create or print barcodes yourself, you can do so here.
