Step 4: Add data in Shopify
This is the MOST IMPORTANT step of all in the onboarding guide.
First: NEVER change your SKU while you have stock. If you need to change your SKU, please contact us.
- Create a Shopify location for ShipShark
It is important that you create a new location in Shopify named exactly Shipshark - Haraldsvej. Inventory and fulfillments must be tied to this location so our warehouse can sync correctly with your shop.
- In Shopify admin, go to Settings → Locations
- Click Add location
- Enter the name Shipshark - Haraldsvej (use this exact spelling)
- Save the location
2. Add weight to your products
-
Click "Products" in Shopify
-
Select the product you want to add/change weight on
-
Find the "weight" field and fill in correctly (if in doubt, ask your supplier)
3. Add SKU to your products (each product variant must have its OWN SKU)
-
Click "Products" in Shopify
-
Select the product you want to add SKU to
-
Find the "SKU" field and fill in a series of numbers and letters + enable "Track Quantity"
-
If your product is a White, Dress in Size Medium, then make e.g. SKU (H-DRESS-M)
-
You can't make a "wrong" SKU. The MOST IMPORTANT thing is that EVERY product variant has its own unique SKU
-
4. Add Barcode to your products (each product variant must have its OWN Barcode)
-
Click "Products" in Shopify
-
Select the product you want to add Barcode to
-
Find the "Barcode" field and fill with 13 random numbers
-
Barcode example: 3567321647830
-
You can't make a "wrong" barcode as long as it is 13 random numbers and unique to each product variant
-
-
Requirement: It is a requirement that the products you deliver to us have barcodes applied (matching the barcode field in Shopify). Without a barcode on the product, we cannot scan your products. That increases the risk of errors and has a major impact on how efficiently we can work in the pick and pack process.
-
If you need to create or print barcodes yourself, you can do so here.
